BUDGAM: Two residential houses and an Imambara were damaged in a fire incident in the Woolina Ichgam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday.
An official from the fire and emergency services headquarters in Budgam told Rising Kashmir that the fire incident took place in Imambara and spread to nearby houses, resulting in two houses and Imambara being damaged in this fire incident.
“After receiving the emergency fire call at 4:15 AM, the fire tenders have reached the spot to douse the flames and bring the fire under control,” the official said.
He said that two residential houses were partially damaged, and Imambara has been mostly gutted.
“These two residential houses belonged to Ghulam Ahmad Rather, Son of Ghulam Mohammad Rather. Another resident house belongs to the three brothers, which include Manzoor Ahmad Rather, Wali Mohammad Rather, and Firdous Ahmad Rather, the official said.
Adding that the cause of the fire could not be ascertained, the police are also investigating the matter, so the cause of the fire incident may get identified.
A police official from the Police Station Budgam said that the report of the fire incident has been registered into the police station.
