Ganderbal, Feb 18: The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) has deployed personnel at the newly established temporary Fire & Emergency Station in Sonamarg, reinforcing fire safety measures in the tourist destination. This deployment, carried out as part of previous directives, will remain in effect until further orders.
The personnel assigned to the station include mechanical drivers, firemen, and officers from different locations, ensuring that Sonamarg is equipped to handle fire-related emergencies efficiently. The move is particularly crucial given the increasing tourist influx and the region’s vulnerability to fire incidents, especially during peak seasons.
Local residents and stakeholders have welcomed the decision, expressing their gratitude to MLA Kangan for his role in facilitating the establishment of the fire station. They acknowledged the need for a dedicated fire safety unit in the area and appreciated the efforts made to ensure public safety.
With this deployment, authorities aim to strengthen emergency response capabilities in Sonamarg, providing better protection for residents, tourists, and local establishments.
