Srinagar, Aug 14: National Conference leaders Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah and Apni Party President Syed Altaf Bukhari have greeted people on the eve of the country’s 78th Independence Day.
In his message, Dr Farooq praised the founding fathers of the country, hoping that the nation continues to uphold the principles of pluralism and diversity.
In his greetings, Omar pointed out that the founding principles of truth, compassion and fraternity are enshrined in the constitution, hoping that the country will continue to remain a shining example of such values in the world.
Apni Party leaders issued messages to mark this significant occasion. In their statements, the party leaders reaffirmed their dedication to the ongoing struggle for the full restoration of constitutional rights for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his message, Altaf Bukhari said, “On the 77th Independence Day, I extend my warmest greetings to my fellow citizens, especially those in Jammu and Kashmir. Living in a free and independent nation is truly a blessing. May this significant day usher in greater prosperity and well-being for all and promote unity and harmony among people of diverse religious faiths and different regions of the country.”
“Today, I want to reaffirm my commitment that the Apni Party is dedicated to ensuring that the people of J&K receive all the rights they are entitled to under the constitution—rights that are enjoyed by citizens across the country,” he said.
