Jammu, Nov 05: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Jammu, issued 32 New Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) in October 2024. In a significant development, EPFO Jammu was chosen for the “Centralized Pension Payment System,” enabling pension disbursement for October to be managed centrally from EPFO Headquarters in New Delhi.
Rizwan Uddin, Regional P.F. Commissioner, EPFO Regional Office, Jammu, personally distributed the PPOs to the visiting pensioners. Highlighting the crucial role of pensions in providing social security, Uddin emphasized their importance for employees and their families in times of need.
The EPFO Regional Office in Jammu has initiated efforts to settle pension claims locally. In certain cases, pensions are being paid to the widows and family members of employees even when the employer has contributed an amount equivalent to one month’s pension.
Under the leadership of Rizwan Uddin, a dedicated team comprising Ajit Kumar Mishra (RPFC-II), Devinder Singh (EO/AO), and Dr. Paramjeet Singh (Sr. SSA) is actively working to ensure comprehensive social security coverage. Women and family members of deceased employees have benefited significantly from the Employees’ Provident Fund, Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance, and the Employees’ Pension Scheme across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Special attention has also been given to processing death claims efficiently.
Several pensioners received their PPOs, including Surinder Kumar (₹69,774), Mrs. Anita Devi (₹56,900), Mrs. Laxmi Devi (₹40,300), and Mrs. Ruhi Gupta (₹62,831). Pension eligibility under the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 requires a minimum of ten years of service. Members may apply for a Superannuation Pension online through their UAN login after reaching 58 years of age. In the unfortunate event of an EPS member’s death, family members can claim a monthly pension offline through the employer.
Visiting pensioners expressed their appreciation for the timely disbursement of their pensions and arrears, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of the EPFO Jammu team in ensuring prompt payments before the month’s close.
