Srinagar, June 22: Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Thursday chaired Yatra Health Coordination Meeting in his office chamber ahead of Amarnath Yatra which will commence from June 01.
The meeting was attended by all the stakeholders associated with healthcare services during the annual yatra enroute both Baltal and Pahalgam axis.
The director stressed all the participants to work in fool proof coordination so that optimal healthcare services shall be provided during the yatra to the pilgrims and all the stakeholders associated with it.
He laid emphasis on well-devised communication modules and implementation of proper referral protocol as per the guidelines so that patients are treated as per the set protocols.
A well-devised Disaster Management Health Action plan was also deliberated wherein SKIMS was flagged as the first tertiary referral care followed by other major hospitals associated with GMC Srinagar that shall keep dedicated wards for the said purpose in case of any exigency.
Dr Mushtaq laid stress on micro action health plans of all concerned for efficient health care services.
The representatives from Police and Army also apprised the director about the action plan and work module in order to provide timely health care services in case of any emergency.
The participants included representatives from Yatra Unit DHSK, representatives of SKIMS, SMHS, Army, CRPF, J&K Police, ITBF, SDRF and other related agencies. The director further stressed working with utmost zeal and in coordinated mode among all the team members.
Pertinently, the Health Department has put in place state-of-the-art critical care facilities to handle emergencies for the annual Amarnath Yatra.
