Srinagar, Jan 11: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Thursday sought effective arrangements for the forthcoming Urs observances of Hazrat Baha Ud Din Gunj Baksh Kashmiri (RA) and Hazrat Baba Haji Adhami (RA).
In a press statement issued here, Sagar urged the administration to rise to the occasion and ensure all facilities to devotees on the annual Urs observances at the revered shrines located in Nawhatta.
The administration, he said, was duty-bound to ensure hassle-free Urs observance by providing round-the-clock transport facilities, drinking water and electricity supply at the revered Shrines. He also urged the administration to ensure public transport on the roads leading to the major shrines.
Meanwhile, the JKNC District President Srinagar Peer Afaq Ahmad, along with Provincial President YNC & I/C Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar handed over the formal order copy to the newly elected Block President of Zakoora Mr. Mohammad Maqbool Mir.
Chief Spokesperson & In Charge Constituency Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, District Vice President Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Senior YNC leader/Coordinator Hazratbal Irfan Zehgeer, Qazi Khalid, Dr. Syed Mohammad, Additional Spokesperson Sheikh Ovaise, Qaiser Jalali, Shahid Kitab, and others were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the party president and MP from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah, vice president Omar Abdullah and other party leaders have condoled the demise of the paternal aunt of South zone VP & In Charge Constituency Shopian Sheikh Muhammad Rafi.
The deceased was the wife of Sheikh Mohammad Younis, brother of veteran party leader, and former MLA Shaheed Sheikh Mohammad Mansoor. They extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
