JAMMU, JAN 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, at a ceremony held today,  unveiled the new flood-lights system at the Multi-Sports Ground of KC Public School. He extended his congratulations and best wishes to the KC Educational Society and sports enthusiasts present, commending the society’s role in nurturing young talents and delivering quality education.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of education in nation-building, the Lt Governor stressed the importance of maintaining quality, inclusivity, and future-oriented approaches in education. He highlighted the significant contribution of sports to the holistic development of students and the enhancement of intellectual capacity.
“Education is the most powerful instrument for nation building. We must make every effort to ensure that quality of education is maintained, education is inclusive, education is future-oriented and education is capable of facing the challenges of the 21st century,” the Lt Governor said.
Lt Governor Sinha expressed that sports serve as a powerful medium for learning leadership skills, and integrating them into education is a crucial step towards building a better world.
Referring to the National Education Policy 2020, he noted that sports are now viewed as a career-building opportunity rather than just an extra-curricular activity.
“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Education Policy 2020 has ensured that sports is not seen as extra-curricular activity but career building opportunity,” the Lt Governor further added.
Encouraging students to engage in sports, the Lt Governor emphasized its role in character development, teamwork, and facing new challenges. As part of the ceremony, outstanding sportspersons from KC Public School were felicitated, and a cricket match between All India Secretariat XI and KC Sports Club marked the inaugural event.
Present at the occasion were Raju Chowdhary, Chairman of KC Educational Society, members of the Society, Amarendra Kumar Mishra (Principal), staff, and students of KC Public School. Notable attendees included Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; prominent citizens, sports personalities, and senior officers of the UT Administration.
