Anantnag, Aug 31: The District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Anantnag successfully concluded the District Level Annual Athletic Meet for U-17 and U-14 age group girls at Tikbagh Mattan on Saturday. Raja Yaqoob, DYSSO Anantnag, presided over the event and distributed medals to the winners.
Excise and Taxation Officer South Range, Mohd Akber Hakeem, attended the event as the guest of honour, along with Drug Inspector Tariq Darsaroo. During the opening ceremony, a Joint Anti-Drug pledge was taken by all athletes and officials present.
The meet featured a range of events, including jumping, throwing, and running competitions, aimed at promoting athleticism and sportsmanship among young girls.
Simultaneously, a District Level Inter Zonal Volleyball Tournament for U-14 boys was inaugurated at SRJ Higher Secondary School Khanabal. The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from various zonal volleyball teams across Anantnag.
