Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested drug peddler in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Boniyar, intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-8299. During search, 110 grams of contraband Heroin like substances was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Idrees Shafi Khan son of Mohammad Shafi resident of Noorkhah Bijhama. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Boniyar were he remained in custody.
Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at police Station Bijhama and investigations have been initiated.
