In a tragic incident, a bus en route to Jammu from Kishtwar met with a fatal accident near Askar, plunging into a gorge and claiming the lives of 39 passengers on the spot.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, expressed profound grief over the heart-wrenching incident.

Expressing shock, Azad lamented the perilous state of roads in the Chinab Valley, branding them as “killer roads” that pose a constant threat to commuters.

He extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims and called upon the LG administration to ensure swift and comprehensive assistance for the affected, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the road conditions to prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
