Srinagar, Jan 26: In a bid to foster athletic prowess and engage the youth in competitive sports, the District Srinagar Ball Badminton Association, in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association, is gearing up to host the highly anticipated District Srinagar Ball Badminton Championship for Boys & Girls 2023-24. This initiative falls under the ambitious “My Youth My Pride” campaign orchestrated by the J&K Sports Council to invigorate and develop sports from the grassroots level.
The two-day extravaganza, sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, is scheduled to unfold at the esteemed Gindun Sports Stadium in Raj Bagh, Srinagar, from February 1, 2024, to February 2, 2024. The championship aims to provide a platform for budding talents to showcase their skills and passion for ball badminton.
All clubs, schools, institutions, and colleges with an interest in participating are urged to submit their entries promptly before the cutoff date of February 1, 2024. The mode of entry submission is exclusively through WhatsApp at 9682365877, and organizers have made it clear that no on-spot entries will be entertained.
Emphasizing fair play, all matches during the championship will adhere to the rules set by the Ball Badminton Federation of India, ensuring a level playing field for all participants. The draw to determine match pairings is slated for February 1, 2024, at 11:00 am, directly at the Gindun Sports Stadium, where the riveting competition will take place.
Crucially, the championship is not only a showcase of talent but also serves as a scouting ground for the upcoming Union Territory championship. The selection of players for participation in the higher-tier championship will be one of the highlights of this event, adding an extra layer of significance to the proceedings.
For further inquiries and detailed information, interested parties are encouraged to contact Mohsin Farooq, the Organizing Secretary of the event, at mobile number 9682365877.
