Kishtwar, Nov 03: Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Idrees Lone chaired a meeting with officers of key departments to finalize preparations for the Urs of Shah Asrar-ud-Din Sahib (RA) being observed on November 10, 2024.
The meeting covered arrangements for accommodations, power and water supply, security, medical services, transportation, sanitation and overall traffic management. Directions regarding the arrangements were issued to each department involved. The meeting also reviewed the stock and supply position of ration and LPG.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) was requested to ensure comprehensive security on the Urs Days.
The Jal Shakti Department was instructed to provide ample drinking water for devotees at the shrines (Astan Bala, Astan Pain, and others) from November 9 to November 11, with additional water tankers as backup.
The JPDCL and Municipal Council of Kishtwar were tasked with repairing and replacing street lights in the town and around the shrines, as well as in Chowgan Ground, to ensure safe movement for devotees.
The chair also stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and marking the roads leading to the shrines.
The ARTO, DTI, and police were directed to organize transportation, including additional buses for pilgrims, and manage traffic and parking.
Tehsildar and DIO were instructed to set up a Joint Information Center at Chowgan Ground for the convenience of devotees with the help of Police Authorities.
