Jammu, Apr 20: Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), Director Sericulture J&K, embarked on an extensive tour of Jammu Division, spearheading efforts to bolster the Sericulture Development Department’s initiatives.
Chairing a comprehensive review meeting at the Directorate of Sericulture Development Department J&K, Camp Office B.C Road Jammu, Director engaged in detailed discussions with officers from across Jammu Division. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of ongoing initiatives aimed at expanding sericulture activities and enhancing silkworm seed and cocoon production.
During the meeting, Director emphasized the need to accelerate ongoing developmental works across different locations in Jammu Division. Stressing on the importance of strengthening infrastructure for effective execution of sericulture operations, he urged officials to expedite the pace of all projects.
Highlighting the significance of organizing Cocoon Auction Markets for timely auctioning of cocoon crops, Director Ajaz Ahmad Bhat urged officers to ensure prompt arrangements. He emphasized providing necessary facilities to silkworm rearers and farmers for their convenience.
Director Ajaz Ahmad Bhat underscored the importance of promptly facilitating eligible beneficiaries with benefits under various schemes, including the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP).
Instructing field functionaries to work with dedication, Director Ajaz Ahmad Bhat emphasized their presence during technical and breeding operations at respective Seed Stations. He stressed the time-bound and sensitive nature of these operations.
Director conducted extensive visits across Jammu Division, evaluating breeding operations, infrastructure development, and field activities at various mulberry farms and nurseries.
Concluding his tour, Director reiterated his commitment to fostering the growth and development of sericulture in the region. His proactive approach towards addressing challenges and streamlining operational processes reflects the department’s dedication to supporting silkworm rearers and farmers.
