Digi-Van flagged off in Shopian for awareness on online services

Shopian, Aug 31: Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Shopian, Bilqees Jan and Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Thursday inaugurated the Digital Week Campaign at Mini Secretariat, Shopian amid a vast gathering of public, students and PRIs.
The Chairperson DDC and DC inspected the stalls, installed by various departments disseminating the awareness regarding various government services available online.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the Digital Week campaign will showcase citizen-centric online initiatives and services of the government to the public, aimed at bringing transparency and ease of living for citizens. He said now the people of the district can avail the schemes of each and every department at the click of a button.
The programmes and initiatives launched are part of the government’s efforts to bring ease, transparency & convenience in public service delivery, the DC added.
On the occasion, the Chairperson DDC also flagged off Digi Van, aimed at creating awareness of digital services and spreading information regarding the Digital India campaign and making the people aware of the benefits they can achieve through digital systems.
Digital Week programmes shall be held across all the blocks, panchayats, schools and colleges of the district. President, Municipal Council Shopian, Subhash Koul; JDP, Khurshid Ahmad Khatana, SDM, Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmed, ACR, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha, ACD,  Hilal Ahmed Jeri, District/Sectoral Officers were present along with other officials.
