Srinagar, July 13: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has directed all the Chief Medical Officers to make all the necessary Medical Aid Arrangements for Muharram 2023 in their respective district as per the past practice.
Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather issued the directions during a high-level meeting. Spokesperson DHSK, Dr Mir Mushtaq said after threadbare discussion on arrangement, the Chief Medical Officers were directed to keep adequate staff deployed for medical aid.
“The CMOs were directed to keep the adequate ambulatory services available equipped with all first aid equipment, as per past practice,” he said.
The CMOs except Anantnag and Ganderbal were told to provide the staff and ambulance to Chief Medical Officer Srinagar according to past practice.
It was decided that CMO Baramulla will direct the Block Medical Officer Tangmarg to provide two ambulances to Block Medical Officer Magam.
The director directed CMOs to collect the Moharram supplies from controller of stores, Kashmir/JKMSCL. In case items are unavailable there the concerned BMO may be directed to purchase through GEM, after fulfilling all the formalities.
The Assistant Accountants Officer of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir assured all the CMOs budget will be provided however purchase should be done should only after fulfilling all formalities.
“Controller of Stores Kashmir was directed to issue the moharram supplies to the districts as per past practice, besides he will also provide the Kiosk to the District which will be utilized by them for Medical / Blood donation camps,” the spokesman said.
The director directed all CMOs to involve the NGOs in providing medical aid during the Moharram for which they will be given a certificate from the department.
In view of the Amarnath Yatra in District Anantnag and Ganderbal, the director assured the CMO Anantnag and Ganderbal that deployment of staff/ambulatory services from these two districts to District Srinagar will not be done this time and Director Indian System of Medicine will be requested to provide the staff/ Ambulances during the Muharram for medical aid arrangements.
