Srinagar, July 06: Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sujoy Lal Thaosen, who was on a three-day visit to Kashmir, undertook an inspection of the deployment and security arrangements along the Pahalgam route for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
Accompanied by senior officers, DG CRPF S.L. Thaosen visited the Pahalgam axis and reviewed troop deployment and security arrangements in the Kashmir Operations Sector of CRPF.
Junaid Khan, the spokesman for CRPF’s South Kashmir Range, informed Rising Kashmir that DG CRPF S.L. Thaosen also reviewed the arrangements at Chandanwari and Nunwan camps, as well as the Sarbal Frisking point. During his visit, DG Thaosen took the opportunity to interact with the Yatris, seeking their opinions on the amenities provided at these camps.
“The overall purpose of DG CRPF’s visit was to assess the security arrangements at the ground level and identify the facilities required by the Yatris along the routes,” stated the spokesman. He further mentioned that this was DG Thaosen’s second visit within the past 14 days.
On the preceding day, Wednesday, DG CRPF also visited the Baltal and Domail camps to review the security arrangements. During his trek along the Baltal axis, he interacted with the pilgrims, gaining insights from their experiences.
“DG CRPF conducted a comprehensive assessment of the Yatra Convoy security arrangements. He inspected Yatri camps in Kashmir’s Operations Sector, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), as well as the deployment on the Srinagar-Jammu highway to ensure the highest safety standards and preparedness,” the spokesman added.
DG Thaosen arrived in Jammu on Monday evening and visited the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas, where he engaged with the Yatris. This visit played a crucial role in evaluating the security situation on the ground for the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu. Accompanying the Yatris’ convoy, he then proceeded to Kashmir, where he stayed at the Lamber and Baltal camps.
Furthermore, DG CRPF personally walked from Baltal to the Holy Cave to gain a first-hand experience of the deployed force personnel alongside the pilgrims.
“He interacted with Yatris from all over the country, assuring them of their safety and security. He reviewed the security arrangements and commended the #CRPF personnel on duty for their commitment towards ensuring a safe and secure yatra,” stated the spokesman.
During the visit, DG CRPF also assessed the readiness of the CRPF’s Valley Rapid Action Team (QAT). He commended the Valley QAT for their unwavering determination and dedication, urging them to continue striving for unparalleled excellence.
Earlier on June 25, DG CRPF Thaosen, along with DG SSB Rashmi Shukla and other senior officers, visited the Baltal axis, reviewed the camp layout, interacted with personnel, and discussed security arrangements for the Yatra.
