DC Shopian reviews functioning of private educational institutions

Shopian, July 20: A comprehensive review meeting of private educational institutions of the district was chaired on Saturday by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb to assess various aspects of their functioning.
During the review, status of recognition, conduct of parent association meetings, publicity of fee structure and approval from the fee fixation committee, implementation of Minimum Wages Act, uniform academic calendar, data updation on U-DISE, reservation for poor students, mechanism of Grievance Redressal System and other issues were discussed.
To ensure full utilization of all resources, the DC emphasized strict adherence to all guidelines of government for staff and student welfare, and directed all institutions to submit compliance especially on implementation of Minimum Wages Act, uniform academic calendar and saturation of reservation for EWS
Regarding parent-teacher meetings, the DC mandated regular monthly meetings to address any grievances from parents along with establishing grievance redressal and sexual harassment committees to address grievances effectively.
In his concluding remarks, the DC emphasized the importance of adhering to these guidelines to ensure the smooth functioning of private schools and the welfare of students and staff.
He reiterated the need for transparency, accountability and regular communication between schools, parents and authorities to foster a conducive learning environment.
The DDC assured that the administration would continue to monitor and support the schools in implementing the directives for academic benefit.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Lone; ADC, Zakir Hussain Faaz; ACR Shopian, CEO, Dy.CEO, ALC, ZEOs, Administrators of Schools and other officers/ officials.
ADDC Kupwara chairs DCDC meeting, reviews Cooperative Sector
Kupwara, July 20: On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat on Saturday chaired the District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) meeting at the Mini-meeting Hall Kupwara to review the Cooperative sector in the district.
During the meeting, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Kupwara, Adnan Nazir informed the chair that the department has taken several initiatives to strengthen the cooperative movement in the district. He gave an overview of the present status of cooperative societies in the district through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
It was revealed that there are 22 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), 5 cooperative marketing societies, 5 sale and service societies, 5 poultry cooperative societies, 5 dairy cooperatives, 4 tribal sale and service societies, 1 FPO in the district.
The meeting focused on the implementation of various schemes designed to bolster the cooperative sector and empower local communities.
The ADDC urged the allied departments to work towards the objective of strengthening the cooperative movement in the district and deepening its reach to the grassroots level.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the cooperative ecosystem and assured unwavering support from the District Administration to achieve the outlined targets.
The meeting was attended by DDM NABARD, LDM, Poultry development officer, Kupwara, AD Handicrafts & Handloom and other concerned.
