Kathua, Oct 19: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey on Wednesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress made under Prime Minister Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam UthaanMahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) in the district.
At the outset, Senior Technical Officer, JAKEDA apprised the meeting that so far a total of 114 Solar Powered Agriculture Pumps have been installed in the district. He said a number of applications have been received by JAKEDA but due to lack of requisite documents and formalities the same could not be processed under the scheme.
The DC impressed upon JAKEDA to furnish the list of applications having deficiencies of requisite documents so that the same could be taken up with concerned stakeholders.
The DC called upon the stakeholder departments viz Horticulture, Agriculture and Floriculture to furnish all documents with applications under PM-KUSUM to extend the benefits of the scheme to maximum number of farmers.
Superintendent Engineer JPDCL was asked to identify the feeder having maximum concentration of irrigation pumps to carry out solarization of agriculture pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
Pertinently, the PM KUSUM scheme has been launched by Government of India to ensure energy security for the farmers, along with honouring India’s commitment to increase the share of installed capacity of electric power from non-fossil-fuel sources to 40% as part of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).
Chief Planning Officer Kathua, Uttam Singh; Chief Agriculture Officer, Sanjeev Rai; Chief Horticulture Officer, Sushil Kumar Angurana were also present in the meeting.
