DC Kupwara flags-off SRTC Bus for Keran

In order to provide better transport facilities to the people of border area Keran, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today flagged-off newly allotted SRTC Bus to Keran area here from D.C Office Kupwara.

 

DDC Member Kralpora, Adv. Masrat; BDC Chairperson Keran, Mohd. Syed Khoja, Officers and employees of SRTC Kupwara, besides Keran bound passengers were present on the occasion.

 

Talking to media persons, the DC said that the bus service is aimed at providing a better transport facility to the Keran area located on the banks of Kishanganga River. He said that the bus which offers luxurious travel experience will facilitate tourists going to beautiful Keran valley and Farkyan top, Meelyal, Kachama, besides, benefitting the local people in their to and fro journey.

 

Dr Sagar further said that more buses will be allotted to other border areas of Kupwara district during the current financial year which will give a boost to tourism activities and help in exploration of new tourist destinations in the district.

 

He said that as the tourist footfall has increased in the district, transport services, road connectivity, homestay and other related facilities are continuously being improved by the District Administration on priority to give a boost to the tourism sector in Kupwara district.

 

Meanwhile, PRIs and local people of Keran and Kralpora and other enroute areas have expressed their gratitude to the District Administration Kupwara for starting bus service for them and making their travel easy and comfortable.

 

On the occasion, SRTC officials informed that the bus will run to and fro from Kupwara to Keran on daily basis.
