Budgam, Sept 09: Deputy Commissioner of Budgam, Akshay Labroo, along with DDC Chairperson Nazir Khan, visited Bairam Cave site of Shri Abhinav Gupt at Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday.
During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner of Budgam also reviewed the ongoing developmental works at the Shrine of Baba Hanief-U-Din Reshi in Rathsun.
He also visited Jamia Masjid Beerwah and paid obeisance at the Bhairava Cave site.
The Deputy Commissioner of Budgam and DDC Budgam also laid the foundation stone for the Rs. 2.19 Crore Gandipora Water Supply Scheme and unveiled the inauguration stone at Bhairava Cave, Beerwah of Shri Abhinav Gupt ji. These projects were recently e-launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha during a function at Rajbhawan Srinagar.
While talking to the reporters, DC Budgam Akshay Labroo said that Beerwah has significant potential for religious tourism, and sites like the Shrine of Baba Hanief-U-Din Reshi and Bhairava Cave are ideal locations to be developed as religious tourism sites for their heritage and landscape values.
“LG Administration has recently laid foundation stones and inaugurated various developmental projects for district Budgam virtually, and today we are going to unveil a few of these projects physically in Beerwah,” said Labroo.
The DC emphasized the need for speedy completion of all ongoing developmental projects, including facade development, lavatory complex at the Shrine of Baba Hanief-U-Din, beautification, side-rallying, and pending stairs accessibility at Bhairava Cave, development of heritage sites, roads, bridges, filtration plants, and other projects to be carried out in time for their timely dedication to the general public.
“I am very happy to know that tourists have already started visiting Bhairava Cave Beerwah and hope that an increase in the number of tourist footfalls would also provide livelihood opportunities for the locals in the area,” said DC Budgam.
DDC Chairman, Nazir Ahmad Khan expressed gratitude to the administration of the Lieutenant Governor for paying special attention to Beerwah and sanctioning multiple development projects for the people of Beerwah.
