Srinagar, Nov 18: Cluster University Srinagar office bearers led by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Mobin paid rich tributes to Prof. Abdul Wahid Qureshi who passed away on Sunday.
In a condolence meeting held at the Gogji Bagh campus of the varsity, Prof. Mobin said he was deeply saddened by the passing of Prof. Qureshi who besides being an eminent Economist served as Vice-Chancellor of University of Kashmir and the founding Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir.
“Prof. Qureshi was an exceptional academic leader who contributed significantly to the higher education sector of the region. Throughout his illustrious career, he demonstrated unwavering dedication to education and public service. His remarkable achievements as an economist and academic administrator are truly inspiring,” said Prof. Mobin.
“As we mourn the loss of this visionary leader, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May his contributions to the world of economics and education continue to inspire future generations,” he added.
The condolence meeting was attended by Dean Academics Affairs, Prof. Yasmeen Ashai, Registrar, Dr. Syed Wilayat Hussain Rizvi, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Mir, Deans of various schools including Dr. Naseer Hussain Shah (Sciences), Dr. G.M Lone (Commerce & Management), Dr. Deeba Iqbal (Humanities & Liberal Arts), Dr. Nazir Ahmad Kotey (Social Sciences) and Dr. Munir Ahmad Mir (Teacher Education).
