CUK, NIT, SKUAST-K leaders unite to boost academic and research collaboration

Srinagar, July 09: Prof. A Ravinder Nath, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), and I/C Director National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, and Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganaie, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) jointly conducted a review meeting about the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the institutions for enhancing collaborative academic and research activities.
This partnership among the three premier institutions of the Valley aims to foster academic cooperation, joint research initiatives, and faculty and student exchange programs. The MoU focuses on leveraging each institution’s strengths to promote innovative research, interdisciplinary studies, and community-oriented projects.
The Key Objectives of the MoU include Joint Research in the areas of science, technology, agriculture, and environmental studies, Faculty and Student Exchange to promote knowledge sharing and skill development, Resource Sharing including laboratories and libraries to enhance the learning experience and research capabilities and conduct of joint workshops, seminars, and conferences to disseminate research findings and foster academic discourse.
Vice-Chancellor of CUK, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, expressed the optimism that MoUs would bolster academic and research network in the Kashmir region and provide exciting opportunities for students and faculty. He added that, Collaborations were key to addressing contemporary challenges in science and technology and this partnership would enable pooling of expertise and resources for the greater good.
Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, highlighted the importance of agricultural research, saying, that the collaboration would enhance agricultural innovation and sustainability, benefiting the farming community and the overall economy. He added that, as universities continue to navigate the complexities of the modern world, these agreements would play a crucial role in their success and societal impact.
It was agreed to review the existing MoUs to make them more functional and also consider signing a tripartite agreement between the three institutions to foster collaborative projects and networking projects.
Others who attended the meeting included Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean Academic Affairs and Prof. Sandhya, Dean School of Languages and Dean International Affairs from Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Mohammad Shafi, Dean Academic Affairs and Prof Ruhee Naz, Dean Research and Consultancy from National Institute of Technology, Srinagar and Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension and Education, Prof Haroon Rashid Naik, Director Research and Planning, Prof. Shabir Wani, Dean Faculty of Horticulture, Prof. Rehana Habib Kanth, Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, OSD to Vice Chancellor from SKUAST-K.
