Srinagar, July 27: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 84th Raising Day with enthusiasm and fervor at Srinagar on Thursday. The 75 Bn of CRPF organized a grand event to mark the occasion, with K. K. Pandey, Commandant, 75 Bn, taking the salute at Bn Quarter-Guard and paying homage to the CRPF martyrs.
During the event, Pandey highlighted the illustrious history of the CRPF, the world’s largest paramilitary force, and praised its pivotal role in maintaining peace and harmony in the country. He commended the force for not only fulfilling its primary responsibilities of internal security but also actively engaging in various social initiatives.
Pandey addressed the gathering of Jawans, emphasizing the importance of duty before self and urged them to carry forward the legacy of courage and loyalty. His inspiring words were met with thunderous applause from the attendees.
As part of the celebrations, sweets were distributed, and greetings were exchanged among the unit personnel and their families. Pandey was honored with the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service by Dilbagh Singh, DGP J&K Police, on this special occasion.
The event continued with a plantation drive at Hari Niwas camp in the evening, promoting environmental awareness. Additionally, a spirited volleyball match was organized, and the winners were duly awarded by Pandey.
To conclude the festivities, a sumptuous ‘bada khana’ was organized in the messes, where all ranks enjoyed a rich and healthy feast. Sumit Kumar, 2IC, Rajesh Kumar DC, and company commanders were also present, making the event a memorable and cherished one for everyone involved.
