Budgam, Jan 19: A comprehensive health campaign was conducted in Budgam district on Friday. The campaign included various activities such as a free eye camp, leprosy screening, the Anaemia Mukt Bharat Campaign, and ABHA generation.
Under the guidance of CMO Budgam, a free cataract surgery camp was organised at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Magam. A total of twenty-three successful cataract surgeries were performed during the camp.
The local residents of Magam expressed their appreciation for Chief Medical Officer Budgam (CMO) Budgam for organising a free medical camp in the community and consistently providing essential services at their doorstep.
The locals said that these camps are beneficial for the underprivileged and expressed their hope for more such events to be held in order to assist a larger number of people in need.
As part of the ongoing Ayushman Bhava campaign, a health awareness programme was also organised in the village of Watakaloo, under the supervision of Block Medical officer Nagam.
The campaign included various activities such as leprosy screening, screening for anaemia under the Anaemia Mukt Bharat Campaign, and ABHA generation.
A total of 432 beneficiaries were screened for leprosy, among whom no suspected case of leprosy was found. Also, 55 people were screened for anaemia, 9 of whom were found to be mildly anaemic, 3 moderately anaemics, and 1 severely mic. Further, 11 sputum samples were collected from the suspected TB cases under the TB Mukht Abhiyaan. Additionally, 32 ABHA cards were generated.
Dr. Ayoub Fateh Khan, Chief Medical Officer Budgam, acknowledged the positive impact of the health check-ups and awareness camps during the event and expressed gratitude for the initiative.
