Class XI results announced: 52.69% qualify exams

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) declared the results of the annual regular examinations for class 11th in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh. A total of 52.69% of students successfully qualified the exams in both regions.
With 1,39,431 students enrolled for the 11th standard annual regular examinations 2023, 73,471 students passed while 65,960 students did not meet the qualifying criteria. This resulted in an overall pass rate of 52.69%.
Among the examinees, 73,809 were male candidates, and 49% of them successfully cleared the exams. For female students, 65,609 candidates appeared, with 57% of them qualifying the examinations.
The results showed notable achievements, with 21,499 students scoring distinction, 33,845 students securing a first division, 16,886 students attaining a second division, and 1,220 students achieving a third division. Additionally, 21 students passed additional subjects. However, 55,700 students had to reappear in various subjects, while 10,260 students unfortunately failed.
The JKBOSE officials mentioned that the annual regular examinations for class 11th were conducted across designated examination centers in the Hard and Soft zone areas of both Union Territories. Overcoming geographical and climatic challenges, the exams were successfully concluded for the academic session 2022-23 with the active cooperation of all stakeholders, according to Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas, the Chairperson of JKBOSE.
Prof Manhas commended the successful students on their achievements and encouraged those who couldn’t pass this time to not lose heart. He urged them to approach the Bi-annual examination with renewed zeal and determination.
“The implementation of the Uniform Academic Calendar 2022-23 was acknowledged as a challenging task, requiring significant effort. However, the successful completion of the academic session demonstrated the effectiveness of the new policy,” Prof Manhas said.
 
Girls shine again
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) announced the results of the annual regular examinations for the 11th Standard in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union of Ladakh. The results unveiled outstanding performances by several students, with a girl student from the Kashmir division achieving a remarkable score of 496 marks out of 500. Two other girls also showcased exceptional academic prowess, securing 495 marks out of 500.
In the Kashmir Division, Adeeba from Islamia Higher Secondary School, Rajouri Kadal Srinagar emerged as the top scorer, achieving an impressive 496 out of 500 marks. Her outstanding performance reflects her dedication and commitment to her studies.
Joining Adeeba in the ranks of academic excellence, two other girls, Irtiza Javid from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sopore and Basna Shah from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh Srinagar, achieved a remarkable score of 495 marks out of 500. 
In addition, two more girl students, Muskaan Nazir from Muslim Educational Institute Namblabal Pampore and Mansha Shabir from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Amira Kadal Srinagar, secured an impressive score of 494 marks out of 500, further exemplifying the exceptional academic performance in the region.
Meanwhile, in the Jammu Division, three students displayed their academic prowess, each securing an outstanding score of 494 marks out of 500. Gari from Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar Jammu, Princess from SP Senior Secondary School Bari Brahmana Samba, and Vansham Pargal from Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School Samba showcased their dedication and commitment to academic excellence.
