Jammu, Jan 4: In a significant initiative to equip students with vital life-saving skills, Civil Defence Jammu has commenced a 5-day basic training program at the Government Degree College for Women, Parade.
The program, led by Dy. SP Anita Pawar, Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, aims to train 250 students in essential techniques such as First Aid, fire prevention and control, handling snake bites, managing choking incidents, and disaster preparedness for both natural and man-made crises.
The inaugural session featured insightful lectures by Civil Defence experts, who emphasized the importance of such training. College Principal R.K. Tikoo lauded the program’s relevance and impact.
Prominent attendees included Chief Warden Civil Defence Paramjit Kumar, Program Coordinator Dr. Alpana Bhan, Professor Mamta Sharma, and other staff members of the college.
