Chandigarh, Nov 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary, Tarun Chugh on Tuesday welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court of India dismissing a PIL seeking the reintroduction of the paper ballot system in elections in India.
The apex Court rejected the petitioner’s claims of EVM tampering and pointed out the inconsistency of politicians who question the credibility of EVMs only after losing elections.
Chugh in a statement said, “The frustration of the opposition parties in the face of electoral defeat at the hands of the BJP has been decisively nailed.”
The BJP leader hailed the observation of the Supreme Court which said that EVMs are not tampered with when one wins elections and that these machines are tampered with only when one loses elections.
