Ganderbal, Sept 30: As the paddy harvesting season continues in Ganderbal district, farmers are optimistic about a bumper crop this year, surpassing previous yields. Speaking to Rising Kashmir, local farmers expressed their joy over the current rice production, expecting a significant boost in output.
“This year, we are expecting a great crop of rice,” said a farmer from Manigam, Ganderbal. “The harvest season has been going on for the last couple of weeks, and the yield looks promising.”
Farmers in the region have been actively engaged in the process, hiring non-local labourers to ease the burden of harvesting.
Paddy farming remains the backbone of the agricultural economy in Kashmir, with local farmers working hard throughout the season.
The favourable weather and timely rains have also contributed to this year’s promising harvest, and the farmers hope this will reflect in better prices and higher demand in the markets.
