Srinagar, Aug 02: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday called on the Centre to implement much-needed Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) to help bridge the “dil ki doori”—the emotional disconnect—between New Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. He also welcomed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s recent statement urging the Government of India to bridge the “dil ki doori”——between New Delhi and J&K. Mirwaiz made the appeal to the Centre during his Friday sermon at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.Appreciating Mirwaiz’s statement, Bukhari urged the Centre to respond positively to the appeal, noting that the Prime Minister himself has promised to bridge the “dil ki doori” between New Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. He wrote on his X handle: “Mirwaiz’s call for the Centre to address the ‘dil ki doori’ between New Delhi and J&K is a significant and meaningful appeal. It reflects his realisation and acknowledgment of the fact that the resolution of all issues concerning J&K lies solely with the Government of India.”He added, “The Centre should respond to his appeal positively by initiating much-needed CBMs to bridge the ‘dil ki doori’ — a commitment also made by the Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi.”
