Jammu, Dec 12: Darshan Rana, who has been appointed as the new president of J&K Bahujan Samaj Party, was warmly welcomed by the party workers on reaching Jammu.
Party workers took out a grand rally from Railway Station Jammu to Ambedkar Chowk, where Darshan Rana paid tribute to Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and said that every possible effort will be made to convey the policies of Bahujan Samaj Party to the people.
He thanked the National President of the Bahujan Samaj Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati and said that he would work with hard work and honesty to fulfill the responsibility entrusted to him by her and Bahujan.
“The movement will be taken forward,” he said adding, “Even today we have such backward families in Jammu and Kashmir who are not being heard, hence my efforts will be to provide these families with their rights and work for the betterment of every section of the society.”
Rana also paid tribute to the former president late Somraj and said that following the path shown by him, work will be done to strengthen the Bahujan Samaj Party in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, he appealed to the party workers to be fully prepared for the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
A large number of workers including Charanjeet Chargotra, Hari Chand Thappa, Sashi Bushan Thappa, Gourav Tilak Raj Bhagat, Raja Singh, and Bishan Das Bhagat were present on the occasion, the party said.
