Bandipora, Oct 11: After being in limelight as the best offbeat destination of India, Gurez valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district is going to feature in a Bollywood movie for the first time.

Prominent Bollywood Film maker and Director Onir along with twenty-five members reached Gurez to shoot for his upcoming movie “Chahiye thoda pyaar”.

While expressing happiness locals of Gurez told Rising Kashmir that this is for the first time that such a big movie is being shot at Gurez and they are thankful to Onir for selecting the beautiful Valley of Gurez.

“We are really excited that first ever shooting for a Bollywood movie is going to start here. This shoot will put Gurez Valley on the tourism map and will also attract the Bollywood industry to shoot here in future”, they added.

A local named Mohd. Ramzan told Rising Kashmir that it is a proud moment for the residents and his joy knew no bounds when he came to know about shooting of a movie in Gurez.
“We are very excited and happy for Onir and his team being here and the shooting taking place in Gurez”, he said.
Onir told Rising Kashmir that they could have gone for regular locales like Spain, Switzerland, Bangkok or some other place, but he wanted to show something new and unique and beauty of Gurez is unique in itself.

He said that everything has been really nice, the hospitality and warmth of the army, administration and affection of local people in particular.
“It’s so wonderful being here. The affection I get here is unparalleled and it makes me truly emotional”, he said.

He further said that he has been to Kashmir many times before and his experience has been extremely pleasant.

Notably, border tehsil Gurez valley has been in limelight for being the best offbeat tourist destination after two countries agreed to hold ceasefire pact in February 2020. The valley emerged as Jammu and Kashmir’s leading border tourist destination with 35000 tourists visited so far this year.
