Srinagar, June 21: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, Srinagar, as the lifeless body of a young boy was discovered near Hokarsar after he tragically drowned in a flood channel.
The unfortunate event occurred on Sunday when Ikhlaas, a local resident of Hamdaniya Colony, accidentally fell into the flood channel. Immediate action was taken, and a rescue operation was swiftly launched to save the young boy. For three consecutive days, relentless efforts were exerted by the authorities to retrieve Ikhlaas’ body from the water.
Finally, the dedicated rescue team recovered the lifeless body of Ikhlaas near Hokarsar. The authorities have decided to hand over the body to the grieving family, enabling them to carry out the final rites and bid a heartfelt farewell to their beloved child.
This tragic incident serves as a solemn reminder of the hazards posed by flood channels, emphasizing the need for heightened caution, particularly during this season. Both parents and children must be vigilant, understanding the potential risks and taking necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
The local community is overwhelmed with sadness due to the loss of Ikhlaas, extending their deepest condolences and prayers to his family during this incredibly difficult time. May the soul of the young boy rest in eternal peace, and may his family find solace and strength to cope with their profound grief.
