Baramulla, Nov 11: In the wake of winter and rising cases of incidents due to electric appliances and gas cylinders, the district administration Baramulla on Friday issued an advisory in the interest of the general public to avoid any untoward incidents of fire.
The advisory issued by the administration asked people to remain cautious about heating appliances, overloading of electric circuits, and gas cylinder usage, especially at night.
The advisory was issued during a brainstorming orientation on Incidence Response System held here at Dak Bungalow which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Sehrish Asgar.
“To sensitize Administration about man made and natural disasters, fires, floods, earthquakes, training session organised.Advisory issued in interest of general public to be cautious about heating appliances, overloading of electric circuits, gas cylinders usage specially at night..,” the DC Baramulla said in a tweet.
During the orientation program, Executive Engineer Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited Baramulla appealed to the people to avoid the use of crude heating devices which he said are the direct cause of short circuit mishaps.
“Government has already banned the use of crude heating devices and if any consumer is using the same, they must shun the use of such appliances,” he said, adding that during winter, fire incident cases are witnessed at an increased rate and most of the times short circuit due to overload, worn out wires, use of crude heaters and boilers is reported.
“We appeal to the people to avoid crude water boiling methods, and crude heaters and use electricity judiciously,” he added.
