Srinagar, June 14: The BJP unit in Kupwara, led by District President Javid Qureshi, staged a protest on Friday in Handwara against the recent Reasi terror attack.
The protest saw good participation from local BJP members and residents, who marched from Qureshi’s residence to Main Chowk Handwara under tight security.
The demonstrators held a symbolic funeral procession for Pakistani terrorists Hafiz Syed and Azhar Masood. Throughout the procession, the participants raised strong anti-Pakistan slogans, condemning Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism in Kashmir.
Slogans such as “Pakistan end sponsored terrorism in Kashmir” and “Pakistan ka matlab bomb, barood aur Ka” echoed through the streets, reflecting the anger and frustration of local BJP workers.
At the culmination of the procession, effigies of Hafiz Syed and Azhar Masood were burned. Addressing to media, Javid Qureshi highlighted the severe impact of terrorism on the people of Kashmir. He stated that the residents have suffered immense damage and loss due to continuous acts of terrorism and can no longer afford to endure such hardship.
Qureshi called on the international community to isolate Pakistan, highlighting that the country’s support for terrorism is causing substantial loss of life and suffering in the Kashmir Valley. He urged global powers to take a firm stand against Pakistan’s actions to curb the spread of terrorism in the region.
Furthermore, Qureshi expressed a strong opinion that India should take decisive action regarding Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), asserting that it rightfully belongs to India. He voiced confidence in the Modi government, citing its track record of accomplishing seemingly impossible tasks in the past.
He expressed hope that the current Modi Government would take necessary measures to reclaim POK and put an end to the terrorism that has plagued the region for so long.
