JAMMU, Apr 30: Following the completion of elections for the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda and Jammu ReasiLokSabha seats in the Jammu region, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP has redirected its attention towards the Ladakh seat, which the party secured in the 2019 Parliamentary elections.
A strategic campaign plan has been devised by the BJP for the upcoming polls in Ladakh scheduled for May 20th. Scores of BJP workers and senior party leaders from the J&K unit will soon embark on Ladakh to invigorate the campaign.
Party sources revealed that ‘PannaPramukhs’ will be appointed to oversee each page of the voter list, with duties assigned to various party leaders to ensure outreach to every household in Ladakh.
Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, expressed, “the star campaigners of the BJP will visit Ladakh for campaigning, and a request for this has already been sent to the party high command.” He added, “The BJP will exert its full strength to secure victory in the LadakhLokSabha seat.”
According to sources, it will soon be clarified by the BJP high command regarding the star campaigners who will visit Ladakh to bolster the party’s campaign efforts.
It’s worth noting that the BJP won the LadakhLokSabha seat in the 2019 elections. However, the party has nominated TashiGyalson as its candidate for the 2024 elections.
Ashok Koul, general secretary (organization) of BJP J&K and Ladakh, recently visited Ladakh and held meetings with party leaders to strategize at the grassroots level. Accompanied by former BJP President Sat Sharma, former MLC VikramRandhawa, and other leaders, Koul convened a meeting at the party headquarters in Leh to outline the party’s strategy.
TashiGyalson, the MP candidate for the Parliamentary constituency of Ladakh, along with PhunchokStanzin, President of Ladakh BJP, TashiGyaltsanKachu, District President, and GorjayAngchuk, election committee Incharge, were present at the meeting.
It may be mentioned here that BJP decided not to contest Anantnag-Poonch-Rajouri Parliamentary constituency as well as 2 other seats of Kashmir. The BJP has stated that it will support the like minded parties in Kashmir and will also appeal to the people to vote against NC, PDP and Congress.
