Jammu, May 15: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of double standards and misconduct, alleging that the party has insulted a woman soldier and crossed all limits to harm communal harmony. The party has demanded strict action both within the party and through legal channels.
In a statement issued here, Shiv Sena (UBT) state chief Manish Sahni criticised the BJP leadership. He said that while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is publicly praising the army during his visit to Kashmir, certain BJP leaders, like Vijay Shah, are making statements that insult army personnel and spread hatred, thereby threatening the fabric of the Hindu-Muslim brotherhood.
Sahni said insulting the army is an act akin to treason and called for immediate, strict legal measures. He demanded Shah’s dismissal from both the party and the cabinet.
Expressing strong disapproval, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader criticised the silence of the BJP high command over Vijay Shah’s remarks. “Legal action against Shah has already been initiated under court orders,”he said.
Sahni further alleged that there is a reckless race among BJP leaders to undermine Hindu-Muslim harmony and communal brotherhood by spreading hatred, which he described as a dangerous trend threatening the unity of the country.
