Baramulla’s constituencies set for Oct 1 polls

 

BARAMULLA, SEPT 12: Baramulla district is gearing up for the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, with over 7.22 lakh registered voters set to cast their ballots on October 1, 2024.
The district, which encompasses seven Assembly Constituencies—Sopore, Rafiabad, Uri, Baramulla, Wagoora-Kreeri, Gulmarg, and Pattan—has a total of 7,22,923 registered voters. This includes 3,64,517 males, 3,58,394 females, and 12 voters from the third gender.
To ensure a smooth voting process, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has established 908 polling stations throughout the district. These include specialized stations such as Pink Polling Stations, Youth Polling Stations, PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Polling Stations, Green Polling Stations, Unique Polling Stations, and Model Polling Stations.
Among the seven constituencies, Baramulla (10) has the highest number of voters, with 1,26,321 registered, comprising 63,338 males, 62,978 females, and 5 transgender voters. The constituency will have 158 polling stations, the highest in the district.
Rafiabad (08) follows with 1,13,011 voters, including 57,760 males, 55,250 females, and 1 transgender voter. It will have 149 polling stations.
Sopore (07) has 1,12,793 registered voters, with 55,990 males, 56,803 females, and no third-gender voters. This constituency will have 129 polling stations.
Uri (09) has 1,04,813 voters, consisting of 53,872 males, 50,941 females, and no third-gender voters, with 147 polling stations set up.
Pattan (13) features 1,03,161 voters, including 51,251 males, 51,908 females, and 2 transgender voters, with 119 polling stations available.
Gulmarg (11) has 90,376 voters, made up of 45,524 males, 44,851 females, and 1 transgender voter, and will have 108 polling stations.
Wagoora-Kreeri (12) has 72,448 registered voters, including 36,782 males, 35,663 females, and 3 transgender voters.
The ECI’s efforts aim to facilitate a seamless and inclusive voting experience for all registered voters in Baramulla district.
