Bandipora, Feb 04: A government teacher from North Kashmir’s Bandipora District has framed software which can be a one stop center for managing records of students and monitor their holistic growth.
Javaid Hassan Sofi, a government teacher posted in Govt Middle school Brar Bandipora in an exclusive conversation with Rising Kashmir said that he has developed a cutting-edge windows application software known as School Management Pro which serves as a comprehensive solution for efficiently managing student records.
One of its standout features is the swift generation of Date of Birth and Bonafide Certificates, he said.
Javid said that a key strength of this software lies in its ability to facilitate school-based assessments effortlessly. It can promptly produce all result formats in accordance with the formats issued by the SCERT in Jammu and Kashmir.
Javid further said that this software can generate Holistic report cards for students which can provide parents with a user-friendly tool to analyse their children’s academic progress at school level.
The software’s intuitive design and rapid data processing make it an invaluable asset for educational institutions to implement the SBA very easily, he added.
Javid said this software is designed to generate a comprehensive Holistic Report Card for students which includes detailed information about a student’s profile, encompassing all Scholastic and Co-Scholastic  domains.
What sets this software apart is its unique feature of providing a meter analysis to parents, Javid added.
This meter analysis is not only easy to understand but also serves as a valuable tool for parents to assess their child’s strengths and weaknesses across various domains, he said, adding that the intuitive design of this software ensures that parents can effortlessly navigate and interpret the information, gaining valuable insights into their child’s academic performance.
Javid said that one of the standout features of School Management Pro is its ability to offer a simplified impression of the overall performance in all domains. This concise summary allows parents to quickly grasp and appreciate their child’s achievements and areas for improvement.
Moreover, the information generated by this software aligns seamlessly with the requirements for filling the Holistic Progress Cards issued by the NCERT or SCERT J&K, Javid said.
He said that by streamlining academic processes, this software not only provides valuable insights but also saves significant time for schools by eliminating manual work.
Javid said the School-Based Assessment (SBA) framework outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 signifies a transformative shift in the evaluation of students and adopts a continuous assessment model, blending formative assessments conducted during the learning process with summative assessments at the end of specific periods.
This multifaceted approach aims to provide a nuanced understanding of a student’s progress and capabilities. Beyond traditional academic metrics, SBA focuses on holistic development, incorporating life skills, critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication, he said.
Javid said the adaptable structure of SBA caters to various ways people learn and their abilities, promoting inclusivity in education. He added that the policy seeks to ease the pressure linked to traditional assessments by minimizing the focus on high-stakes exams, thereby creating a more relaxed and favorable learning atmosphere.
Javid said according to NEP 2020, SBA aims to nurture a generation of learners who are not just good academically but also have various skills necessary for success in a fast-changing world.
In this approach, teachers have a crucial role. They guide students, provide feedback on time, and help create a well-rounded educational journey, he added.
