Bandipora, Oct 28: The Government Polytechnic College Bandipora conducted a week-long educational field visits for students specializing in travel, tourism, and hospitality management from October 21, 2023, to October 28, 2023. The immersive field visits aimed to provide students with hands-on knowledge about natural, historical and cultural heritage sites in Srinagar.
Under the guidance of experienced faculty members, the students embarked on a phased exploration of Srinagar’s renowned landmarks. The itinerary included visits to iconic sites such as the Mughal Gardens, SPS Museum, Ancient Buddhist Monastery, Dachhigam National Park, Dal Lake, the historic Jama Masjid, Hazratbal, Naqshbandi, Bulbul Shah and Shah-i-Hamdan shrines. The students also participated in the city walk across the old city of Srinagar. Through these visits, students gained practical insights into the tourism industry, understanding the significance of heritage preservation and the cultural diversity of the region.
The week-long program allowed students to interact with local communities, artisans, and historians, enhancing their understanding of Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage. It also provided them with a platform to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering a holistic learning experience.
The week-long field visits concluded today on October 28, 2023, marking the successful completion of this educational initiative. Mr. Javid Iqbal Bhat, Principal Government Polytechnic College, Bandipora, expressed gratitude to the local authorities, facilitators, and the community for their warm hospitality and support, enabling the students to have a memorable and enriching experience.
