Around 1000 vehicles stranded on Jammu-Srinagar highway: Officials

Jammu-Srinagar highway remained closed on Friday, leaving over 1000 light and heavy motor vehicles stranded on the thoroughfare, officials said.

 

 

As per the advisory issued by J&K Traffic department, “Due to heavy rainfall on whole NH-44, mudslides at Cafeteria-Mehar, Ramban and shooting stones at Panthyal and other locations approx. 1000 vehicles both HMVs and LMVs are stranded on NHW. 

 

It said that tomorrow on 11-02-20232, if weather permits only stranded vehicles will be allowed to move to their destinations, subject to traffic worthy road conditions.”

 

“From 09-02-2023, 1700 hrs. to 10-02-2023, 1700 hrs. Jammu Srinagar NHW remain blocked for 23 hours due to mudslides, shooting stones at Cafeteria, Mehar and Panthyal”,it said.

SSG Road closed for vehicular movement as per Divisional Commissioner Ladakh UT’s order no. 75 dated 06-01-2023 in view of snow accumulation.

 

MUGHAL ROAD:-

 

Mughal Road closed for vehicular movement as per District Magistrate Shopian’s order endstt. no. DMS/PA/2023/1362-67 dated 05-01-2023 in view of snow accumulation.
