Srinagar, May 18: The Indian Army on Thursday carried out an emergency delivery of a woman at Sadhna Pass inKupwara district. The delivery was carried out by a medical team of the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps. The woman gave birth to a baby girl at the pass.
In a statement here today, Army spokesman said that in an unprecedented unfolding of events at Sadhna Pass on May 18, a baby girl was delivered under daunting circumstances wherein the Indian Army medical staff at Sadhna Pass sprung into time critical and life saving action and assisted in emergency delivery ensuring the safety of both mother and newly born child.
After receiving the information, Indian Army swung into action and medical staff rushed to provide timely assistance to one HarmidaBegamw/o Nasir Ahmed ofJadda vill, Tangdhar. The well trained Indian Army medical staff with experience showed great resilience and carried out delivery in time thereby bringing joy to the anxious family members. The baby girl was named ‘Sadhna’ by her parents in recognition of the location and to honour the efforts of Indian Army. The heart warming action by the Indian Army has once again exhibited reassurance of unconditional support to the citizens of Kashmir. The relieved parents and relatives of the newly born child conveyed their gratitude which had left an indelible mark in their memories since Sadhna was born at Sadhna top under the guardians of Sadhna Pass.
