Srinagar, May 17: In a strong message from the forward areas of north Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, on Saturday asserted that no part of Pakistan is beyond the reach of the Indian Army. Accusing the neighbouring country of backing terrorism and disrupting peace in India, Sinha said Pakistan has been forced to plead on global platforms after witnessing the Indian armed forces’ resolute response.
“India has never supported war—we seek peace. But our armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any threat. The world has seen their courage, and that’s when Pakistan began begging globally,” Sinha said while addressing troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district.
The LG lauded the Indian Army for its unwavering commitment and valour in the face of cross-border provocations. “I salute your courage, loyalty, and love for Maa Bharati. May our nation always have bravehearts like you guarding its borders,” he told the soldiers.
Reiterating India’s growing economic and military strength, Sinha said the country is poised to become the fourth-largest economy in the world. “We are currently the fifth-largest economy and moving steadily towards becoming the fourth. This reflects the vision of a developed and powerful India,” he said.
Without mincing words, Sinha blamed Pakistan for sponsoring violence in Jammu and Kashmir despite being weighed down by international debt. “Our neighbour is destroying peace and humanity using borrowed money. But I believe they have now understood the strength of our response,” he added.
Earlier in the day, the LG visited border villages in the Tangdhar sector affected by recent cross-border shelling. Accompanied by senior administrative officials, he assessed the damage firsthand and interacted with local residents.
“Several homes and shops have been hit due to the enemy’s shelling. I came here to witness the damage myself and to listen to the concerns of the people,” he said while speaking to reporters.
Sinha confirmed that initial relief had been provided to many affected families but emphasized the need for further support. “The administration has extended emergency aid, but some victims still require help. We are committed to ensuring that every affected person receives support,” he said.
He announced that a comprehensive rehabilitation plan would soon be formulated by the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir in coordination with senior officials. “A detailed report will be prepared and submitted to the Centre. We will seek full assistance from the Government of India for rebuilding and rehabilitating the affected families,” the LG assured.
