Srinagar, July 23: Due to rise in day temperatures, the Directorate of School education Kashmir (DSEK) on Tuesday ordered the change in school timings for all Government and recognized Private Schools up to the Higher Secondary level in the Kashmir Division from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
An official from the Directorate of School Education Kashmir said that they have been receiving numerous representations from parents and other stakeholders regarding the need to adjust school timings for students during the current heatwave.
“The classwork for all Government and Recognized Private Schools up to the Higher Secondary level in the Kashmir division will now begin from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm in both rural and urban areas of the valley,” the official said.
He said that teaching and non-teaching staff are required to report for duty from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The new schedule will be in effect until 10th August 2024.
