Ganderbal, Jan 6: Amid inclement weather conditions in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, Police have intensified efforts to ensure public safety and uninterrupted services in the district by extending a helping hand to both locals and tourists alike.
Special focus is being given to tourist hubs, far-flung areas and areas prone to heavy snowfall. SHO Police Station Gund, Lateef Ali and his team have been patrolling extensively across the tehsil to address potential challenges and ensure the smooth functioning of essential services. Similarly, SHO Sonamarg Mudasir Ahmad is closely monitoring the situation in the popular tourist destination, taking all necessary precautions to prevent any adverse impacts of the weather.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, Raghav S, the district police have constituted special teams and deployed them across Ganderbal to assist stranded tourists, passengers, and vehicles stuck in the snow. The teams are actively providing aid in key areas such as Sonamarg, Gund, and Kangan, ensuring swift responses to any emergencies.
To further strengthen these efforts, emergency response teams are on standby, and vital routes are being kept open and accessible. The authorities have urged residents and tourists to exercise caution, stay updated on weather conditions, and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy snowfall.
Meanwhile, in view of the erratic weather, district police Ganderbal constituted police teams and deputed them across the district for providing helping hand to Tourists to avoid any untoward incident or distress especially in Tourist Places, far-flung areas and areas prone to heavy snowfall.
