Poonch, June 19: Ajaz Jan, Provincial President of the J&K National Conference Youth and former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), on Wednesday addressed the party workers’ meeting here.
In his address, Ajaz expressed gratitude to the people for their unwavering support for the National Conference in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. He acknowledged the community’s dedication and the pivotal role they played in ensuring the party’s electoral success, emphasising that their continued support is crucial for the future endeavours of the National Conference.
“The meeting also focused on several significant local issues, reflecting the community’s urgent needs and aspirations,” a statement issued here said, adding, “A key resolution was passed during the gathering, addressing the dilapidated condition of the roads in the region. The resolution demanded immediate repairs to improve connectivity and ensure safer travel for the residents.”
Jan stressed the importance of infrastructure development, saying that well-maintained roads are vital for economic growth and daily convenience.
According to the statement, the resolution called for adequate compensation for individuals whose homes were damaged during the recent floods.
The NC leader pointed out the severe impact of natural disasters on the livelihoods of many families and urged the authorities to expedite the compensation process to help them rebuild their lives.
Another critical issue raised was the execution of the State plan. He voiced the community’s concerns that the current State plan is not being implemented in a manner that aligns with the people’s aspirations.
Ajaz called for a more participatory approach in planning and execution, ensuring that the developmental projects meet the genuine needs of the local population. He urged the people to sustain the momentum gained from the recent polls and to extend their support in the upcoming assembly elections.
“With people’s backing, the National Conference is committed to addressing these issues and forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
