Advocate among three arrested in Greater Kailash Robbery Case: Police

Jammu Police has successfully solved the sensational Greater Kailash gold shop robbery case, bringing the culprits to justice.

The infamous daylight heist at Anand Jewelers, Greater Kailash, Fowara Chowk, Jammu, had sparked concerns among the Sawarnkar community and sent shockwaves throughout the City but the focused, professional and dedicated efforts of the police led to the identification and arrest of the criminals behind this highly planned crime.

 Case Background

On February 1, during noon time, two armed robbers stormed into Anand Jewelers, with a deadly weapon Toka to intimidate alone woman owner present inside the shop. By placing a sharp-edged weapon on her throat, they induced instant fear of death and looted valuable gold, cash, and a mobile phone (Vivo V20, SIM No. 9906015489) before fleeing the scene.

A case was registered under FIR No. 19/25 at PS Gangyal under Sections 309(3), 311, and 3(5) of BNS, and a highly skilled investigative team was deployed and investigation started.

 Formation of Special Investigation Team (SIT)

Taking cognizance of the gravity of the case, later SSP Jammu constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of SP City South and headed by SDPO City South, Jammu.

 Investigation of the case and Modus Operandi of culprits: 

Police successfully arrested culprits involved in the crime, so far surfaced in the investigation. One of the main conspirator ⁠Rahul Sharma (Advocate) S/o Shashi Sharma, resident of Lower kanal, near Grameen Bank, Bishnah, the main kingpin of the crime is arrested alongwith 02 others (1. Sunil Sharma (26 years) – S/o Romesh Chander, R/o Bhagani Rafta, P/S Gharota, Tehsil Bhalwal, Distt. Jammu. 2. Tushar Kumar (22 years) – S/o Late Sewa Ram, R/o Lower Canal, Bishnah) who executed the plan and committed the robbery on spot. The preliminary questioning revealed a shocking and disgraceful inspiration behind the robbery from a similar kind of gold robbery at Delhi, Samaypur Badli in the year 2023.

The successful resolution of this high-profile case showcases the unwavering professionalism and dedication of Jammu Police in tackling organized crime. Their focused investigative approach, intelligence and technology driven & dedicated efforts, and pursuit of justice for the victim ensured the apprehension of accused.

Jammu Police urges the public to remain vigilant and report such activities to the nearest Police Station or dial 100 and install CCTV cameras around their establishments. Keep the valuables locked and ensure that minimal is kept for display. The swift and precise action in this case sends a strong message that crime will not be tolerated, and offenders will be brought to justice—no matter how elaborate their planning may be.

9. Kante – 49 pieces

10. Tops – 16 pieces

11. Stone Ear rings – 06 pieces

12. Sterling Silver watch- 01 piece
