Jammu, April 19: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, Anand Jain, Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Police Headquarters, Jammu, to assess the final arrangements for the upcoming Inter-Battalion and Inter-Zone Sports Meet 2025. The events, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), are scheduled from April 21 to April 25.
During the meeting, Jain took feedback from concerned officers and allocated specific responsibilities to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of both events. On-the-spot instructions were issued for the timely resolution of outstanding matters. Detailed deliberations were held regarding the sequence and timing of the opening and closing ceremonies, category-wise event scheduling, security arrangements, installation of a public address system, transportation, ambulance and medical support, refreshments for participants and accommodation for visiting teams.
Jain emphasised that J&K Police has consistently provided opportunities to young sporting talent through district, range, zonal and state-level competitions under CAP. A committee has also been constituted, headed by the Commandant of IRP 19th Battalion, to identify and nurture promising players from the participating teams. He stated that hosting such a prestigious event is a matter of pride for J&K Police and reaffirmed the commitment to providing every possible facility. He added that the event would serve as both a morale booster and a valuable learning opportunity for participants. The meeting was attended by senior officers including DIG Armed Jammu Vinod Kumar, DIG JKS Range Shiv Kumar, SSP Security Jammu Rajesh Sharma, SSP Traffic Jammu Fasil Qurashi, Commandants of Jammu city-based battalions, and Chief Medical Officer, Police Hospital Jammu, Baljeet Singh.
