Anantnag, June 06: The Department of Biochemistry at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag successfully hosted a “Poster Presentation Competition” at its main campus in Dialgam.
The event was designed for first-year MBBS students, focusing on the theme “Biochemistry in Health and Disease”, the GMC Anantnag said in a press release issued here.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from the students, who showcased their understanding and creativity through informative and visually appealing posters. The event aimed to enhance students’ knowledge and presentation skills while fostering a deeper understanding of the role of biochemistry in health and disease.
A distinguished panel of judges, comprising Prof Mumtaz Din, Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Dr Sami Magray and Dr Mehak Mufti, evaluated the presentations. The judges commended the students for their hard work and innovative approaches to presenting complex biochemical concepts.
The results of the competition as conveyed by HOD Biochemistry, Dr Saima Mushtaq are: 1st Position: Poster No. 01 on Diabetes, bagged by Wasil Zahoor; 2nd Position: Poster No. 03 on Folic Acid Deficiency, bagged by Shweta; and 3rd Position: Poster on Hyperthyroidism, bagged by Suhaib Firdous.
The event was attended by Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof Dr Rukhsana Najeeb, who served as the chief guest. She congratulated all participants and distributed prizes among the winners, encouraging them to continue their academic pursuits with the same zeal and dedication.
This competition not only provided a platform for students to demonstrate their academic prowess but also highlighted the importance of biochemistry in medical education and its application in understanding health and disease, the GMC Anantnag said.
