Srinagar, May 23: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir under the aegis of Commission for Scientific & Technical Terminology, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and in collaboration with the Linguistics Department of Kashmir University completed the assignment of the Fundamental glossary of Agriculture into Kashmiri Language. The activity spanned over three phases, in which experts from different fields of agriculture, higher education, Kashmiri literature and linguistics participated.
The last phase concluded on Thursday at SKUAST-Kashmir main campus, Shalimar. Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai interacted with the team of experts and appreciated them for their hard work.
Dean, Faculty of Horticulture, Prof. Shabir Ahmad Wani briefed Vice Chancellor about the details of the workshop. Dr. Shalindra Singh, Assistant Director from Commission for Scientific & Technical Terminology, thanked Vice Chancellor for his support and applauded other team members for their work and efforts.
The team of experts who participated in this series of workshops included Prof. Farooq A. Lone, Prof. Naseer A. Dar, Prof. Adil Amin Kak, Dr. Irfan Bisati, Dr. Tariq Rasool Rather, Dr. Aijaz Mohammad Sheikh, Dr. Madan Kumar Jha, Dr. Henna Hamadani, Inayat Ullah Dar, Deepjyoti Deb and Dr. Nazima Mehdi.
Zareef Ahmad Zareef Saab, a notable Kashmiri poet and writer was also a part this programme and gave his valuable inputs. Prof. Shaheen Gul, coordinator of the workshop thanked all members for their contribution.
