SKUAST-K organized awareness program at Budgam for tribal farmers

Srinagar, Feb 17: Dryland Agricultural Research Station Rangeth in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra Budgam SKUAST-K, organized one day awareness programme for tribal farmers of Shuplin, Nowgam (Khag) under All India Coordinated Research Project on Pulses, Srinagar Centre sponsored by ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulse Research Kanpur.
The Chief Guest of the event Prof. Sher Ahmad Dar (DARS, Rangreth, SKUAST-K) encouraged tribal farmers to avail the opportunities under AICRPs, emphasizing its potential to render farming not only lucrative but also attractive to the youth. 
He underscored the role of various technologies/Schemes in bridging the gap between scientists and farmers and stressed on the importance of pulses for farming community. He also briefed about the role of KVKs for enhancing the income of the farmers by fostering the availability of Critical inputs at time. Dr. Latief Ahmad, In-charge TSP AICRP-Pulses (DARS, Ranghreth) highlighted role of AICRPs in providing quality inputs for Agricultural use. 
Dr. Sabia Akhter (SMS, Agronomy) gave the general awareness about the Package of Practices for Pulses. Pulse seed, tool kits and pamphlets on package and practices of pulses (Pulse Cultivation Guide and Hamare Dalain) were distributed. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Bhinish Shakeel (SMS, Home Science).
